Home Town
Here I am going to lay down a brief introduction about the small but an eminent town 'Manali' situated in between the evergreen valleys of Himachal Pradesh which is surrounded by high mountain ranges on the top of which the little amount of snow will remain throughout the year. From Himalaya, River Beas flows and touches the land of Manali and swiftly goes into the lap of 'Ponda Dam'.
Though it is a small town but there isn't any lacking of human needs.Everything is natural and easily available.Weather is superb most of time specially the summer and spring. As it is a hilly area snow fall occurs in winter and obeviously the weather is quite cool. According to the season the natural beauty of this town also changes. That's why throughout the year thousands of tourist from different places and countries rush out to visit the stunning beauty, the fascinating culture, the wonderful tradition and the pleasantful climate.
Beside that there are so many other spots worth to visit. Some of them are-
Buddhist Monastery
There are two main Buddhist Monastery near the main road. These two belongs to Gyelug and Nyingma sect.
Hadimba Temple
An eminent Hindu temple known as Hadimba temple placed in the midst of 'Dungri' almost 1.5km. away from the main town. The devotees from several places visit here constantly. Its a very old temple built for 'Hadimba Devi' the goddess of Hindu sect.It is said that it was made up of gold and now after thousands of years its colour declined and turned into dark grey.Even its too old, it looks splendid specially when it is winter. The snow covers the layers of terrace and it seems like a ladder. This temple is the charm for the whole 'Dungri'.
Solang Valley
10-15km. away from the town there exist a picnic spot called as 'Solang Valley'.A favourite picnic site for all the visitors with a vast ground attracks all the viewers. It is renowned for paragliding, horse riding and sight seeing etc.
Hot Spring water
Vashisht and Kalath are the two hot spring famous for its effectiveness for the diseases.People never miss to bath there.
Museum
On the bank of river Beas the village well-known as 'Nagar'. Its beauty cant be define. It seems as if god has bestowed all the beauties in its lap.In this village there is a museum exist in which all the ancient monuments and memories are kept and which revives the ancient period.
This town is only the one which directly leads to the way to Ladakh. The road from Manali to Ladakh is mainly laid by the Tibetans and Nepali. And which is considered as the highest altitude road in the world. This zigzag road also lead to 'Rohtang'and 'Marhi'.Most prominent for its site seeing.'Rohtang' is 52km. far away from the main town.As it is located on extremely high altitude, even in the sizzling summer people enjoys the beauty of snow, cool and foggy weather. When all those fogs hugs the entire 'Rohtang',such a feeling arise in our mind as if we are roaming in the midst of sky nothing will be visible except those chilly foggies. This site is also recognise as 'Rohtang Top'.From where we can have a glance on the nearby spots of the town.
And 'Manali' is the main town which directly leads to such fascinating sites. That i observed.More than that the visitors will judge when they visit this spot....
Lastly I WISH YOU A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010.
May good health, prosperity and good fortune follows your step wherever you go.And wishing you a very bright future…….
